Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
- Everything you type into the calculator, including any contract text you paste, is processed only in your browser. It is never sent to us or anyone else, and we never see it.
- We look up your approximate country from your IP address so we can show the right calculator. We don't store it.
- We use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use the site (clicks, scrolling, which pages are visited) so we can improve it. The calculator form and your results are masked, so Clarity never records what you enter or the amounts shown.
- The site is funded by advertising from Google, which may use cookies. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first, and you can change your choice at any time.
- We don't sell your personal information for money, and we don't ask for your name, email or account details.

1. Who we are
FinalPay Calculator (finalpaycalculator.com) is operated by [OPERATOR NAME] ("we", "us"). We provide free calculators that estimate redundancy, severance and final pay for Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Pakistan. We are the controller of the limited personal information described in this policy.
2. Information you enter into the calculator
The calculator asks for details such as your dates of birth and employment, pay, leave balances and contract terms, and lets you paste parts of your employment contract. All calculations run in your web browser using code on this page. These details are not transmitted to our servers, our advertising partners or any other third party, and are not saved after you close or reload the page.
We use Microsoft Clarity for analytics (see section 3), but the calculator form, the contract text box and the results panel are marked as masked, so their contents are replaced before anything is recorded.
If you use "Copy summary" or "Print / save PDF", the result is handed to your own device's clipboard or print dialog. What happens to it after that is up to you.
3. Information collected automatically
Country detection
When you open the calculator, we work out which country's calculator to show:
- First, from your device's time zone setting, which is read in your browser and not sent anywhere.
- Then, from your IP address, which is used to look up the country you're browsing from. This lookup is done by our hosting/network provider (Cloudflare) or by the free geolocation service country.is. They receive your IP address as part of the request and return only a two‑letter country code. We do not store your IP address or the result on our servers. Only your chosen country is saved, in your own browser (see section 5).
You can always pick a different country using the tabs at the top of the page.
Server and security logs
Like nearly all websites, our hosting provider automatically records technical information when you load a page: IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and diagnose problems. It is not used to identify you.
Analytics (Microsoft Clarity)
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use the site, so we can fix problems and make it easier to use. Clarity collects information such as the pages you visit, clicks, scrolling and mouse movements, your device and browser type, and your approximate location. It may create anonymised session recordings and heatmaps. Clarity uses cookies (see section 5).
We have configured Clarity so that the calculator form, any contract text you paste and the results panel are masked. Their contents are never sent to Microsoft. Clarity also masks text you type into fields by default. Microsoft processes this data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Where consent is required (for example in the UK and EEA), Clarity only sets its cookies after you agree.
4. Advertising
We use Google AdSense to show ads, which keeps the calculator free. Google and its partners may use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see an ad, measure ad performance and prevent fraud.
- Third‑party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google My Ad Center (Ads Settings). You can also opt out of some third‑party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info (US), youradchoices.ca (Canada) or youronlinechoices.eu (UK/EU).
- Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Consent. If you visit from the UK, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, you'll see a consent message from a Google‑certified consent management platform before any advertising cookies are set. You can accept, reject or customise. If you decline, you may still see non‑personalised ads, which use only limited data such as your approximate location and the page you're on. In some US states you'll be offered a choice to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising.
5. Cookies and local storage
| Name / type | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
fp-theme (local storage) | Us | Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode | Until you clear your browser data |
fp-country (local storage) | Us | Remembers the country calculator you last chose | Until you clear your browser data |
Advertising cookies (e.g. __gads, __gpi, IDE) | Google and partners | Serving, measuring and personalising ads; fraud prevention | Up to 13 months |
Consent cookies (e.g. FCCDCF, FCNEC) | Google consent platform | Remembers your cookie and privacy choices | Up to 13 months |
Analytics cookies (_clck, _clsk, CLID, MUID, ANONCHK, MR, SM) | Microsoft Clarity | Recognising return visits and grouping page views into sessions for analytics | Up to 1 year |
Security cookies (e.g. __cf_bm) | Cloudflare (if used) | Protecting the site from bots and abuse | Up to 30 minutes |
Our two local storage items stay on your device and are never sent to us. You can delete cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings. Blocking them won't stop the calculator working.
6. Legal bases for processing (UK GDPR and EU GDPR)
- Consent: advertising, analytics (Microsoft Clarity) and measurement cookies, where required. You can withdraw consent at any time using "Manage cookie choices".
- Legitimate interests: showing the right country's calculator, operating, securing and improving the site, and showing non‑personalised ads. We've balanced these against your rights and keep the data involved to a minimum.
7. Who we share information with
- Google (advertising and consent management). Google acts as an independent controller for some ad processing. See the Google Privacy Policy.
- Microsoft (Clarity analytics), which receives masked usage data as described in section 3.
- Our hosting and network providers (for example Cloudflare), to deliver the site, detect your country and protect it from attacks.
- country.is, if our own network provider can't determine your country, to look it up from your IP address.
- Authorities, if we're legally required to.
We do not sell personal information for money. Under some US state laws (such as California's CCPA/CPRA), allowing advertising cookies may be treated as "selling" or "sharing" personal information for cross‑context behavioural advertising. You can opt out using "Manage cookie choices", and we honour Global Privacy Control signals where our consent platform supports them.
8. International transfers
Our providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where UK or EU data protection law applies, those transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions, the UK–US Data Bridge or Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. How long we keep information
Calculator inputs are never stored. Server and security logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period (typically no more than 30 days) unless needed to investigate abuse. Advertising data is retained by Google, and Clarity analytics data by Microsoft (recordings and heatmap data for up to about 13 months), under their own policies. Local storage items stay in your browser until you clear them.
10. Your rights
Because we don't ask for your name or email, we usually hold no information that can identify you. You still have rights, which we'll respect wherever you live:
- UK, EEA and Switzerland: access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection (including to processing based on legitimate interests), data portability, and withdrawing consent at any time.
- California and other US states with privacy laws: to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
- Canada (PIPEDA): to access and challenge the accuracy of your personal information, and to withdraw consent.
- Australia (Privacy Act): to access and correct personal information we hold about you, and to complain about how it's handled.
- Pakistan and everywhere else: you can contact us with any privacy question or request and we'll respond in good faith.
To make a request, email info@brandsboosthub.com. We'll respond within 30 days (or sooner if your local law requires it). For requests about advertising data, Google's own tools at Google Data & privacy are usually the fastest route.
11. Children
This site is for working adults and isn't directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we'll delete it.
12. Security
The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Because calculator data never leaves your browser, there's no copy of it on our side to be lost or breached. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the site and the limited data our providers process.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example if we add analytics or change advertising partners. We'll change the "Last updated" date at the top, and for significant changes we'll show a notice on the site.
14. Contact and complaints

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to your local regulator:
